Caroline Flint, Labour MP for Don Valley, has this week supported a cross-party letter to support victims of rape by removing the automatic parental rights of those who have fathered a child through rape.
Caroline Flint has challenged the Prime Minister to back trade union rights in the UK by giving trade union representatives guaranteed access to workplaces.
The MP’s demand came after Unite trade union members won £1.9million from several construction companies - Balfour Beatty, Costain, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Sir Robert McAlpine, Skanska UK and VINCI - for activities which led to trade union activists being blacklisted.
Doncaster’s neighbourhood policing teams are to see more police on the streets as South Yorkshire Police have promised to boost the police presence across communities.
The plans were discussed at a meeting organised by Caroline Flint MP with local Labour councillors and senior police officers, including Borough Commander Shaun Morley.
Caroline appeared on ITV's Peston on Wednesday night to talk Brexit - telling viewers that the referendum result must be respected and that cross-party talks were in the national interest.
Caroline Flint has welcomed as “a lifeline for Don Valley’s villages” the Labour pledge of new funding of £1.3billion per year to reverse cuts made to 3,000 bus routes by the Tories since 2010 and to fund the expansion of new bus services.
Said Caroline: “For too long, many of our outlying towns and villages get a second class bus service. Yet buses are essential to get people to work on early shifts and home late at night.
“Doncaster’s towns and village stand to gain from reinstating bus services. It will also reduce the risk of isolation for many elderly, and vulnerable people living in rural areas who have been totally cut off as a result of their bus services disappearing.”
Airport campaigner and Don Valley MP Caroline Flint has welcomed the new TUI holiday flights from Doncaster to Florida, which commenced this week.
Caroline said: “I am very excited for the first passengers to begin their holidays flying from DSA to Florida with TUI. Long before Doncaster Sheffield Airport opened, we saw the potential for this 2.9km runway to deliver passengers to the other side of the world. TUI has shown the ambition to fulfil that potential. DSA now serves 51 destinations, which simply would not be possible without a committed partner like TUI. I hope families snap up the seats available for the Florida holidays this summer, and that the friendly, efficient service they enjoy at DSA will bring them back time and again.”
